Google's The DaVinci Code Quest Day 11

The 2nd Chess puzzle of the DaVinci Code Quest comes on Day 11. As with the first chess challenge, you need to answer three questions to complete the puzzle. I hope these get harder...

The questions aren't that hard, but if you need to search for the answer just go to google search to find them.

One question down....Two to go...

One more move to Checkmate...

Game, Set, Match! Until tomorrow's puzzle, the halfway point of the first phase of Google's DaVinci Code Quest.

Google's The DaVinci Code Quest Day 7

Day 7 and the end of Week 1 of the DaVinci challenge and is getting a little harder, but not by much...there are many puzzles left, so hopefully it'll get harder. Today's challenge is a similar Soduko type of puzzle that was given to us on Day 1. This time the grid is 5x5 instead of 4x4 and another symbol is added. The instructions are straight forward. Place one each of the five symbols on the grid so that none of the same symbol is on the same row/column/color.

Hopefully, it's not just the same puzzles over and over for the 24 days of this contest. But Google is finally starting to get smart about this contest and gives random puzzles to everyone that is playing the contest. So you're on your own figuring out the solution here, but it's pretty easy.

After figuring out the puzzle, you are asked a math question to help promote Google's calculator function. Click here to learn more about Google's calculator function. A couple of questions we've seen is "What is 1500 arcminutes in degrees?" and "How many tablespoons in a US gallon?" No matter what your question is, just use Google's caclulator to find the answer.

Getting there....7 days down, 17 to go in Phase 1....then it's on to Phase 2.

Google's The DaVinci Code Quest Day 4

Today is Day 4 of the increasingly boring DaVinci Challenge. Today's challege under the "Curator" category and is a little like Tetris. You need to hang works of art on hooks on a gallery wall so all of the peices of work hang without overlapping. Not all of the hooks will be used and some pictures that are already on the wall cannont be moved.

That was pretty easy....

Once you have the pictures hung, the usual question of what symbol is by a character's picture comes. Today's character is Audry Tautou as Sophie Neveu, at least it's a pretty hot girl today, not like dudes for the past three days.

And as usual, to find the answer to the question, all you have to do is click on the link under the question and it will bring you to the character's profile and the answer will be shown underneath.

That was even easier than hanging the pictures. What a tough day.

There are only so many characters in this movie, so this "Challenge" has to get harder right? One can only hope. Until tomorrow at 1pm.

Google's The DaVinci Code Quest Day 2

Today is Day 2 of Google's DaVinci Code Contest. Today's "Restoration" challenge is slightly easier than yesterday's. You need to clear away "debris" on a work of art to uncover a hidden question.

The instructions are straight forward. Click on pairs of debris until they are all cleared to uncover a hidden question.

The "debris" you need to clear away are those brown blotches in the picture below.

Is the "debris" all gone? You're halfway there.

Now it's time to answer the question you've uncovered. It looks like a cross, but what type of cross is it?

Click on the link to load a page with the answer. This is just to force you to view yet one more ad. I think we're close to figuring out what they are promoting with this contest...

Nice work...On to Day 3!
